The members of the Amber Flag Committee organised a special treat for the school.
A week before, the Amber Flag had a meeting to discuss a new fundraiser for Pieta House. Ms. Donnelly came up with the amazing idea to do the fundraiser on Pancake Tuesday.
The students would give €2 to us, and then the teachers would prepare some delicious pancakes! Some of us made posters to remind everyone of the date, cost and details of our fundraiser.
On Pancake Tuesday myself and Josh, another member of the Amber Flag, went around the classrooms with a pot for money. At the end, there was almost a mountain of coins and notes. It was amazing to see how
much everyone donated for this good cause. I, personally, am so proud of everyone, they deserve their pancakes!
The pancakes were simply exquisite! There were a range of toppings to put on the pancakes, including chocolate sauce, marshmallows and fruit. My class thoroughly enjoyed them, and I hope everyone else liked them just as much.
The Amber Flag Committee plans to do a few more fundraisers in the future. I’m not a fortune cookie, but based on the amazing cooperation of teachers and students alike, I think it’s safe to say thatthe next fundraisers will be excellent!
