March in Room Eleven
March was a busy and exciting month in Room 11! We packed in lots of fun activities, learning, and celebrations. Here’s a look at what we got up to:
🥞 Pancake Tuesday – We kicked off the month by celebrating Pancake Tuesday, where we learned how to make pancakes as Gaeilge! Everyone enjoyed decorating and, of course, eating them with their favourite toppings.
🔷 Symmetry in Maths – We explored symmetry in maths, finding lines of symmetry in different shapes and even spotting symmetry in our classroom and environment.
🛠️ Lego Inventions – Our creativity was in full flow as we built submarines and other amazing inventions using Lego. It was great to see teamwork and problem-solving in action!
💃 Céilí Dancing – A huge thank you to Mr. Horgan for teaching us Irish dancing! We had so much fun learning the steps and getting into the rhythm of the traditional dances.
📚 World Book Day – We celebrated our love for books with fantastic costumes, a book review and book cover competition, and even a book cover scavenger hunt. It was great to see so many different books being shared and enjoyed!
🍓 Fruit Salads as Gaeilge – We put our Irish language skills to the test by making delicious fruit salads as Gaeilge. A fun and tasty way to practice our vocabulary!
☘️ Seachtain na Gaeilge – We had an action-packed Seachtain na Gaeilge, celebrating Irish culture and language with a Caife Gaelach, Lá Glas, Scannán Gaeilge, Tráth na gCeist, agus an Céilí Mór. Bhí an-spraoi againn!
🗣️ Debating in Literacy – We practiced our debating skills, working in teams to argue different motions. It was great to see such confident speaking and persuasive arguments.
🌞 Outdoor Reading – As the weather brightened, we took our Weaving Well-Being lessons outside, enjoying some fresh air while reflecting on our well-being and mindfulness.
March was an amazing month, and we are looking forward to more exciting learning and activities ahead! 🌟
