November in Room 11
As the days grow shorter and the weather turns colder, our class has been keeping busy with exciting activities, creative projects, and lots of learning.
In November we celebrated Science Week! We completed lots of fun experiments. We explored magnetism and static electricity! We tuned into the Meet the Scientist webinar and learned all about earthquakes and how they are measured. We showcased our own experiments for Ms. Dean's fourth class, and had the opportunity to watch some of their experiments also.
We also completed our STEPS projects and had a visit from one of the engineers. She was super impressed with our projects and gave us great feedback! We built prototypes using toothpicks and marshmallows.
We wrote reports on our favorite animals and the counties of Ireland. We have been enjoying using the iPads for research.
We've been completing lots of winter art like melting snowmen and our chalk pastel snow globes!
We have also started tennis with lovely coach Orla. We have really been enjoying this new skill.
Overall, we have been working very hard in room eleven since the Halloween break. We are looking forward to lots more Christmas fun next month.
